Camera Review OF Redmi 12C

Redmi 12C camera

The Redmi 12C comes with a 50MP dual camera setup in the rear, which is impressive at its price point under of ₹ 10000. The picture quality is good for the price, which is expected from a budget smartphone. The camera app is easy to use and provides a decent set of features. The video recording capability is limited to 1920x1080 @ 30 fps and 1280x720 @ 30 fps, which is decent for everyday use.

The dual camera setup in the rear produces decent images with good color accuracy, especially in daylight conditions. The autofocus works well, and the camera app provides a few modes, including portrait, night, and HDR. The portrait mode produces decent results with good edge detection. However, in low light conditions, the images tend to get noisy, and the details are lost.

The video recording quality is decent for everyday use. It records at 1920x1080 @ 30 fps and 1280x720 @ 30 fps, which is good enough for recording day-to-day activities. However, the lack of 4K recording capability might be a deal-breaker for some users.

The Redmi 12C features a 5MP front-facing camera that delivers good picture quality for its price point. It is capable of recording videos at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second and 720p resolution at 30 frames per second. For the price of 8499, the Redmi 12C is a budget-friendly option for those who want a smartphone with a decent camera for selfies and video calls.

Overall, the Redmi 12C offers good camera capabilities at an affordable price. It produces decent images and videos for day-to-day use. If you are on a budget and looking for a smartphone with a good camera, the Redmi 12C is definitely worth considering.

Performance Review of Redmi 12C

Redmi 12C performance

Day-to-Day Performance

The Redmi 12C is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, the same chipset available in the Moto G13, that is coupled with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM. This combination provides the smartphone with adequate power for day-to-day usage. The octa-core processor (2 GHz, Dual-core, Cortex A75 + 1.8 GHz, Hexa Core, Cortex A55) is powerful enough to handle basic tasks such as browsing, social media, and video playback smoothly.

The smartphone runs on MIUI based on Android 12, which is optimized for better performance and improved user experience. The user interface is smooth and responsive, and there is no lag while multitasking. The Redmi 12C also comes with 64GB/128GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.

Gaming Performance

When it comes to gaming performance, the Redmi 12C is capable of handling most popular games such as PUBG, Call of Duty, and Asphalt 9 without any noticeable lag or frame drops. The Mali-G52 MC2 GPU is powerful enough to handle graphic-intensive games smoothly. However, the gaming performance may not be as smooth as a high-end gaming smartphone due to the limitations of the chipset.

The Redmi 12C also comes with Game Turbo mode that optimizes the gaming experience by blocking notifications, freeing up memory, and improving touch response.

Battery

Redmi 12C battery life

The Redmi 12C is powered by a 5000mAh battery that offers decent battery life for the average user. With moderate usage, the smartphone can last for a full day without requiring a recharge. The battery capacity is a significant advantage for the Redmi 12C, especially for those who are always on the go and cannot charge their phone frequently.

However, the smartphone comes with a 10W charger in the box, which is not the fastest charging speed available in the market. It takes approximately 3 hours to charge the phone from 0 to 100%. This could be considered a disadvantage for those who want to charge their phone quickly.

Another potential disadvantage of the Redmi 12C is the use of a micro USB port instead of a Type-C port. While micro USB is still a widely used port, many smartphones are now using the newer and faster Type-C port. This could be a drawback for users who are looking for a smartphone with the latest charging technology.

Storage & Variants

The device comes with two storage variants - 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. The users can choose the variant according to their storage needs and budget.

This phone uses eMMC 5.1 storage type, providing faster read/write speeds. It has expandable memory of up to 1TB, which is useful for users who require a lot of storage for their files.
